A Reborn Sarajevo Serves as Muse to its Young Designers

Design in Eastern Europe

  1. It's interesting to see a group motivated to present their meaning. Especially if it's people who are in unfortunate situations, and more so if it's done using limited resources. The Sarajevo post cards remind me a lot of mexican street art that you might see on a lamppost in Mexico. The message also makes me think about racially charged art, not because of the concept motivating it, but because of the similar aesthetic and energy behind it. Here is a video that takes a controversial stance on issues of immigration.

I feel there are some parallels. I only can hope that the Mexican people can progress past charged imagery and take a positive spin like Nina Knezevic has done with hers.
